My Fleep: Internet
The Secret to Drive 'Wild Unstoppable Traffic' to Your Site and 'Win
SEO Games'
Before I reveal to you the secret to win the SEO, I want to
tell you a brief description of how commonly search engines
like Google and Yahoo work and how they present information
to the user typing in the "keyword" to commence a search.
Search Engines use a special agent called ‘crawler' to
index websites. A crawler is an automated program run by
the search engine system. Crawler visits a web site, read
the content, Page Title and it's Meta Tags. Then, it will
follow through all the links located at the web sites. The
crawler then returns all the information it get, back to a
central depository, where the data being indexed.
Therefore, when you submit your website pages to a search
engine, the search engine crawler will index your entire
site.
When a user requests a search engine to locate information,
it is actually searching throughout the index, which has
created, and not actually searching the Web. Different
search engines produce different rankings because each
search engine uses different algorithm to crawl through the
indices.
Common factors that search engines algorithm scan for is
the frequency and location of keywords on a web page, but
it can also detect synthetic keyword if someone try to do
spam indexing. Search Engine algorithms can analyze how
pages link to other pages in the Web. By checking how pages
link to each other, an engine can determine what a page is
about, if the keywords of the linked pages are similar to
the keywords with the original page.
Okay, after you know briefly how the search engines work,
now you want your site get high rank of indexed high search
engine. However, before come to that part, you have to
make sure the search engine know your site's existence. The
ideal one is to get your site listed in the common
directory site like dmoz.org or directory.google.com. Why
is that? It is because the search engine crawler crawls
these sites frequently so that your site's chance off
getting indexed would be much higher than other sites which
the crawler do not frequently visit.
After you know the basic of search engine, now it's time
for me to reveal the first secret to win SEO.
Secret #1: Do Onsite Optimization
Yes, according to its name onsite="on your site", meaning
you can do the optimization directly on your webpage and it
is totally under your control as you can do whatever you
like on your website.
There are 5 Steps you must do to Optimized your Website:
Step #1 - Define a Specific Keyword.
When you do SEO, you have to focus on particular page and
think about which keyword you want to boost your webpage
rank for. Now, assuming that you have decided to boost the
rank of particular page of your site with the keyword
"Golf Training", the next thing you have to do is to let
search engine know that this page is for the keyword "Golf
Training".
Step #2 - Write your Keyword in Page Title.
I suggest you to put your chosen "keyword" in the page
title. The keyword you write in the page title is important
because it will use by search engine as one of the factor
to decide the rank of your web page. In addition, many
famous web crawlers use the text in your page title as the
text for the title of your page in your listings. Simply
type in your keyword between the '<'title'>' and
'<'/title'>' portions.
For example '<'title'>' Welcome to Golf Training page!
'<'/title'>'.
After you typed in, then your page title will appear in the
title bar of browsers when a user views your web page.
Step #3 - Write your Keyword in Meta Tags.
What is meta tags? Quoting from personalweb, Meta tags are
hidden sections of code you enter onto your Web pages that
allow the search engines to know what your page is about
and index it. Adding good meta tags to your site will make
your site rank higher in the search engines. Simply type in
your description and keyword for you page between this code:
Description
'<'meta name="description" content=" Description of the
page content " /'>'
Keywords
'<'meta name="keywords" content=" Synonyms and phrases that
classify the content " /'>'
Here is an example how you define keywords meta tags on
your page:
'<'meta name="keywords" content="Golf Training" /'>'
'<'meta name="description" content="This is the Webpage for
Golf Training" /'>'
Step #4 - Use your Keyword in Domain Name or Sub Domain or
Folder Name.
Domain name is one of an important factor for onsite
optimization consideration. I suggest you create a domain
name containing your keyword, of course if it is possible.
If it is not possible, you still can create a folder or a
sub domain containing your keywords.
Here is an example: If you want to create a website about
Golf then you can create this domain name: GolfTraining.com
or AllAboutGolf.com
But, if you cannot buy the domain name you want, you still
able to create www.abc.com/GolfTraining or
www.abv.com/AllAboutGolf. Assuming xyz is your domain name.
Instead of creating folder, you can also create a sub
domain GolfTraining.xyz.com or AllAboutGolf.xyz.com
Step #5 - Keyword Density.
Search engine would also count on how many times your
keywords appear in the content body of your page. If you
page is optimized for "Golf Training" or "Dog Training"
then search engine would see whether the keyword "Golf
Training" or "Dog Training" appears in the content body.
Search engine will not only count the appearance of the
keywords but also counting the number of times they appear
in the content body. In short, "Keyword Density = number of
keywords / total number of words in your web page"
For example, now you want to improve your rank in Google
for the page www.abc.com/GolfTraining. You have an article
in that page which consists of 300 words. If the keyword
"Golf Training" appears 30 times in the passage then the
keyword density for "Golf" would be 10% and the density for
"Training" would also be 10%.
The ideal keyword density for Google is about 10% while for
Yahoo is 20%. In general, the ideal keyword density for all
search engines is about 15%. However, from our experience,
the exact density is not really significant. It is more
important about the location of your keywords.
I believe that if your keyword is in the first five words
of the first paragraph and in the last five words of the
last paragraph, then it would be good enough for the search
engine to index your page. If you want to check the keyword
density of your page, you can go to keyworddensity.com .
